The top two teams in the Division 2 Championship will secure qualification for the 2027 IBSA Blind Football African Championship Division 1, establishing a clear development pathway for emerging nations and growing teams in Africa.

More than just a competition, the event will serve as a key legacy project for the continent, enabling the development and accreditation of new Technical Officials and a Technical Delegate from and for Africa. This aligns closely with the vision of IBSA President Mr. Ilgar Rahimov and the new IBSA Board to foster sport development in every region of the world.

Jagwe Muzafaru, Founder and Chairman of Blind Football Uganda, shared his excitement:
“I am extremely happy that IBSA granted Uganda the opportunity to host the 2025 IBSA Blind Football African Championship Division 2. Spearheading it shows the efforts I have put in developing the sport all over the country have paid off as a reward to good progress.
Hosting such a tournament will give us great visibility, talk-ability, cementing the existence of the sport in the country and more acceptance in the hearts of many Ugandans. This prestigious event will shine a spotlight on the remarkable talents of athletes with visual impairments and showcase Uganda’s commitment to promoting inclusivity in sports.
We are proud to host this championship, which will not only highlight the incredible abilities of our athletes but also promote unity and empowerment on the African continent.”
